BARBARA SHARPE
(nee FURGAL)
July 5, 1942 - September 16, 2021
She has left a hole in the heart of so many including sons, Steve, her first born whom she always worried about (Bonnie), Vince who she was proud to see on the road again (Brenda), and Dave her go to for just about everything and patient computer teacher (Heather). Also heartbroken by her loss are her daughter Michelle (her Bunnie and best friend) and son-in-law Luciano (The Landlord) whom she lived with for the past 14 years when she wasn't at the lake.
Missing her forever are grandchildren: Andrew, always Andy to her (Chelsey); Stephen Jr., forever Stevie to her (Maria); Lauren; her Lor Lor and Louise to her Thelma; Caitlyn; "Katie is spelled with a "K" she claimed (Jesse); Julia "not Julie, Julia is a beautiful name" (Cole); and Amanda, who nicknamed her Downtown Grandma (Matt).
Mom leaves behind the most amazing great-grandchildren that she loved so dearly: Ethan (who was the love of her life and called her Grandma Darling), Makayla (who mom thought was great fun), Hannah whom she was just getting to know, Miley who mom enjoyed having at the lake, and Baby Sharpe, not yet known but mom was highly anticipating the arrival of.
Also left to mourn are her older sister Helen and younger brother Joe and their families. Mom was predeceased by both her parents, and by her husband Michael (Mike) who introduced mom to the lake that would become her summertime home.
Mom's legacy is her spectacular gardens! We hope she meets again with lake friend Bobbi Daun as their eight hour conversations about gardening were epic and instilled a lifelong love/addiction for gardening in their daughters, Michelle and Reesa, who carry on that legacy both at home and at the lake.
This story of mom's life is all about family because that was what was most important to her, and she was sincerely a mom to all she met. She was a true matriarch (a term she was too humble for), and her wise advice will be sorely missed. Mom was the kindest, classiest lady you could ever know, who always looked so elegant. Those of us at her side commented that at least she passed away as a brunette as she promised she always would.
Mom will be forever missed but never forgotten. The stories of her escapades will live in family history for generations to come.
As per her long-standing request there will be no funeral, but a private celebration of her life held at the lake next year for what would have been her 80th birthday. She wanted a grand party which the family was starting to plan; it will go on as intended.

It is with great sadness and fond memory that we send condolences over the passing of our good friend. I have personally been connected to the Sharpe family for over 70 years and have known Barbara for most of them. We have been fortunate to have been involved with her and her exceptional family, from Winnipeg, to Brandon, to Regina and especially to Hawk Lake. Many are the wonderful memories of " The Lake". God gives us love. Something to love he lends us. - Posted by: MAUREEN L DAUN AND CALDER D. DAUN (Good friend) on: Sep 25, 2021

Our sincere condolences. We’ve known Barb for almost 40 years. She was always first to offer to take charge of organizing a group lake activity. I admired that she could freely speak her mind and ask the tough questions at our Association meetings. 😊 Her lake yard and gardens were always so beautiful. We were stunned to hear of her sudden passing. We all knew how much she loved Hawk Lake. Barb will be missed. Take care. The Sargeant family. - Posted by: Pat Sargeant (Lake neighbour) on: Sep 25, 2021
