OLLIE JOHNSON
March 11, 1929 - September 18, 2021
Ollie is survived by her children, Paula (Daryl, Kennedy, Malone) and Rodney (Julia, Cole, Tyler); brothers-in-law, Donald and Cy (Carolann); nieces, nephews and many friends, including friends from their lifetime of ballroom dancing.
Ollie was predeceased by her husband Paul; sisters, Barbara, Mary, Eva; brother Joe and sisters-in-law, Margaret and Anna.
Mom was born in the RM of Stuartburn, MB. She moved to Winnipeg with her sisters Barbara and Mary when she was 16 years old. She often mentioned how much fun she had, working with her sisters at the Woolworth's lunch counter.
In 1954, she met the love of her life, Paul, at a canteen dance and they were married in 1955. From that moment on, they were inseparable. There were often referred to as two peas in a pod, as they did everything together. In 1962 they began their own successful business, Certified Carpet and Upholstery Cleaners. 59 years later, the company is still family owned and now run by their grandson Cole.
Mom was an amazing hostess. She and Dad loved having parties, hosting dinners and entertaining their friends. Nothing was more important, however, then time spent with family. Their children and grandchildren always came first. Mom was a beautiful woman who had the remarkable ability to speak to anyone as if she were their age - the true definition of ageless.
A cherished smile, a heart of gold,
To the dearest Mom the world could hold.
Happy memories, fond and true,
For us who thought the world of you.
There will be no formal service. A private family service and dinner will be held in her honour.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Dear Rodney and Paul. Our most deepest sympathy to you and your families. You have lost a wonderful mom and grandmother and we have lost a dear friend. We feel blessed to have built happy memories with Ollie and Paul over the last 50 years. We also cherish the memory of our last visit with Ollie shortly before she left us. Had a very nice time together in her new apartment at River Ridge where she, of course, insisted on putting out a snack. She looked great, said she was great and loving her new place. We do share your loos. May you find some comfort in knowing she was loved by friends as well as yourselves. Doug and Ellie Loos - Posted by: Doug and Ellie Loos (Dance club friends) on: Sep 25, 2021

On behalf of Tony and Maddy Hickaway we send our deepest sympathy to your family. Friends since the EK ballroom dancing classes, our parents truly loved partying with Ollie and Paul. Mom always admired Ollie's style and sense of fun. She was one classy lady. We will miss her. Hickaway family. - Posted by: Sherry Faller (Friend) on: Sep 25, 2021
