CLAUDETTE RAYMONDE MCCLELLAND
August 15, 1948 - September 19, 2021
On September 19, 2021, Claudette, at the age of 73, passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre surrounded by her family.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband Greg, daughter Cheryl (Mark), son Mark (Chantal); grandchildren, Adrianna and Jack; and great-grandchild Claire. She is survived by her siblings, Evelyn (Claude), Giselle (Gilles), Roland (Cindy) and Gabriel (Debbie). She was predeceased by her parents, Claude and Hortense Ayotte; and siblings, Robert and Aurore (Dawn).
Claudette was born in 1948 and raised in St. Jean Baptiste until she met and married her loving husband Greg in 1966. They moved to Winnipeg to start their life together and raise their family in St. Vital. She worked as a secretary at several schools in the area until her retirement in 1997. In her retirement she volunteered at numerous organizations such as St. Boniface Hospital Cancer Care, St. Vital YMCA Age and Opportunity, and volunteered for many years at her local community centre. She was known for her warmth and dedication to her family and friends, and loved hosting gatherings in her home, ranging from birthdays to Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving gatherings. She was a longtime parishioner of Christ the King Church where she attended Mass regularly with her dear friend Heather. She loved to spend time at her cottage at Red Rock Lake as well as winter holidays in warmer climates.
The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their kind and compassionate care during Claudette's stay there.
Due to Covid restrictions, there will be a private service and interment for family and close friends by invitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Claudette's name be made to Riverview Health Centre Foundation.
