BERT VINET
(JOSEPH LUCIEN ALBERT VINET)
October 23, 1934 - September 16, 2021
Bert will be greatly missed by his sons, Paul (Lorraine) and Brian, his granddaughter Terra Lowes (Brad), as well as his great-grandchildren, Lia, Emily and Brett Lowes. Bert was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Noreen, his daughter Deborah (Debbie), his brother Paul Vinet, his sister Rita Vinet, and his parents, Adelard and Delores Vinet (nee Rougeau).
Bert was born on October 23, 1934 in the small community of Giroux, Manitoba where he spent his childhood years. At an early age, he began working in the bush, a skill that proved to be very useful throughout his life. Bert enjoyed cutting trees with his son Paul during his years of retirement. Bert was soon employed by the National Grain Company, which had Bert moving to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, where he met Noreen and they married. By 1963, with three children in tow, Bert's employment had them moving to Edmonton, Alberta and returning to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1968. In 1972, Bert, Noreen and the family moved to West Hawk Lake, Manitoba, calling this beautiful area home for many years to come. Throughout these years, Bert and Noreen operated several businesses in the West Hawk Lake and Falcon Lake areas. They purchased their final home in 1983, in Falcon Lake. Falcon Lake was most certainly the desired place to spend the warm summer months, but Mazatlan, Mexico became home base between the months of October and April for 25 years. In Mazatlan, Bert and Noreen enjoyed surrounding themselves with friends on the beach, sharing laughter and a cocktail at 4:00 p.m. happy hour. After the passing of Bert's wife, Noreen, in 2017, Bert settled in La Broquerie, Manitoba in 2018.
Bert Vinet will be remembered by all his buddies in Falcon Lake and West Hawk Lake.
The Vinet family would like to thank all staff at Ste. Anne Hospital for their kindness and support.
Out of respect of Bert's wishes, there will be no funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

I have very fond memories of "Mr. Vinet" when they owned the store in West Hawk. I would take my hard earned dime to the store and purchase a little brown paper bag full of candies for the day. My condolences to the Vinet family. - Posted by: Gayle Birdsell Nickol (friend) on: Oct 02, 2021

The deepest feelings of loss and condolences your dad at Falcon Lake and my dad always joked and had some laughs they helped each other and your dad's smile is imbedded in my brain. He was so warm and always called me “Kenny“ I remember picking up or delivering items from my dad such as soft drinks over 30 years ago. Both of our dad’s passed at the same age and are probably sharing a story or two about the lake right now. Boy those were the days weren’t they! - Posted by: Ken Hamin (Friend ) on: Oct 02, 2021
