ELAINE SUPPES
December 19, 1932 – September 28, 2021

Peacefully, after a brief illness, at the age of 88, Elaine was reunited with her husband, Henry, in the presence of God.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, John (Diane), Lynda Hunt (Ross), Garth (Susan); grandchildren, Robert (Shannon), Kristin (Dave), TJ, Kylee (Matt), and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Olivia, Mason, William and Heather, along with her grand-dogs and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased in 2019 by her loving husband Henry of 65 years and by her four older siblings.
Elaine was a devout Christian and faithful servant throughout her entire life, serving on various women's committees in her church. She was a full-time homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family. Mom's quiet, caring and accommodating nature allowed people to be themselves around her. Elaine was an avid reader who enjoyed gardening, bird watching and baking.
Granite Lake in Ontario was a much beloved place to Elaine and her family. From her early years spent with lifelong friend Janet Dickson, to the many friendships that blossomed at Shady Lane, many lasting memories were created.
We have been blessed by having Mom in our lives for so many years. Cremation has taken place. A private family service of internment will be held at a later date and we are comforted to know she is "Forever in God's care."
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elaine's memory to Diabetes Canada.

  • John, I noticed your family name while scanning the obits in the Free Press. I read the item and found it was your mother who had died. Joan and I extend our condolences to you and your family. It has been quite a while since we have been in contact. I recall our friendship from the days we were at Church together. I think the last time we met was when we happened to meet on Ste. Anne's road. You were out for a bicycle ride. We will remember you and your family in our prayers. Joan and Ed - Posted by: Edward W Alexander (Friend of John) on: Oct 05, 2021

  • Dear Suppes Family; I am saddened by the news of Elaine's passing. She was a part of my family for so many years. I have so many wonderful memories of times together. As a little girl growing up, Elaine was so often with Janet at our home on Scotia or at Granite Lake. Over the years, my girls came to know her as well and she was "Auntie Elaine " to them, although for the longest time they thought her name was "Auntie Lane". Her quiet presence and her comforting hand helped me through Janet's unexpected passing. Today, I feel as if I have lost another sister. Know that I am thinking of all of you and holding my memories in my heart. Linda - Posted by: Linda Budreau (Family Friend) on: Oct 02, 2021
