DOUGLAS IAN MACKAY

Sadly we announce the death of Doug.
Left to mourn are his loving wife Judy, his brother Angus (Jill), and his children, Stephen (Lois), Carolyn (Bernie), Kimberly (Marc), Britt (Paul), Krista (Sean), and Nancy (Chad). Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will miss Grandpa/Grampy. Judy's siblings and his many nieces, nephews, and friends will lovingly remember him.
Doug was born in Hadleigh, Essex, UK. He worked in the London Hospital as a maxillofacial technician and served with the Royal Army Dental Corps which marched in Queen Elizabeth II's coronation parade. He was a special constabulary with the Thames Police; later serving on the Nigerian Police Force. In Winnipeg, his dental lab provided care to communities throughout Manitoba.
His travels included Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Cairo, Scotland, Paris France, and from the east to west coasts of Canada. His hobbies were painting, pottery, and stained glass. He loved music; his favourite was Amazing Grace on the bagpipes. Doug cared deeply for his pets, including a monkey, parrot, dog, a large aquarium of fish, and his dear cats.
We warmly thank Dr. Sharkey for his care.
