MARIE REINE PETIT
November 16, 1945 - September 28, 2021

Peacefully with family by her side, on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Red River Place, Marie passed away at the age of 75.
Marie will be greatly missed by her children, Richard (Chiaki), Michelle (Kevin) and Rachel (Rob); grandchildren, Dylan and Tori (Jedd); many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters, Rose and Louise (Lou); brother Paul (Terri) and sister-in-law Wendy.
Marie was predeceased by her parents, Prosper and Jeanne; brothers, Edward and Victor; sisters, Rita and Cecile; brothers-in-law, Russel Sych and Ron Vandekerkhove along with former spouse Hubert Trudeau and family.
Marie was born on November 16, 1945 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up on the farm in Grande Pointe.
Marie worked for many years alongside her twin sister Rose at Paulin-Chambers until they shut their doors. Then she went on to receive her Health Care Aide certificate and worked at Tache Nursing Home. She was an extremely hard worker with numerous jobs to support her family. She enjoyed camping, playing cards, entertaining and being out on walks with family.
Marie was such a sweet and caring mom who was always there for her children. She was a kind soul with a great sense of humour, who would give her opinion without flinching. As her health declined, she became a resident at Red River Place in Selkirk for the past 11 years. Staff knew her for her contagious smile and her love for Pepsi, hotdogs and chocolate were very evident.
The family would like to thank Dr. Lindenschmidt and all the staff at Red River Place, where Marie was greatly loved. Thank you so much for your care and compassion.
With her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held on November 16 at Ile Des Chene Parish.
