JOSEPH ARTHUR GAGNE
March 2, 1935 – September 25, 2021

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving father Arthur, who is now reunited with his wife Marie, of 64 years, who passed away on March 5, 2021.
Arthur was also predeceased by his parents, Ferdinand and Valentine; his sisters, Rose and Therese, and his brother Benoit. He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Nicole (Klaus) and Diane (Aurele); son Robert; grandchildren, Andrea, Karlese, Patrick and Liane; five great-grandchildren, and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
Arthur grew up on the farm in Ste. Pierre where he met his wife Marie. They moved to Winnipeg to begin a new life.
Arthur worked for 40 years at Canadian National Railway until his retirement. He was devoted to providing a good life for his family. His passion was also spending time at the cabin in Ste. Pierre where many wonderful memories were made.
Arthur was a caring, loving and hard working man. He had a tremendous sense of humour, loved to socialize, and enjoyed meeting his friends at McDonald's. During the last 10 years he enjoyed joking with the staff and the residents at Catherine Place. Thank you to the staff for all your hard work in helping everyone stay safe and happy during these trying times.
Dad was also Mom's caregiver during the last five years of her life. He always made sure Mom was comfortable and well taken care of. The last few years Dad would visit Mom everyday at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface, never leaving her side. He was truly our Hero.
Although we will miss you very much Dad, we know Mom has met you with open arms. Until we meet again.
The Funeral Mass for both Arthur and Marie will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on October 14, 2021 at the St. Boniface Cathedral, 180 Av. de la Cathedrale, Winnipeg, MB, with words of remembrance beginning at 12:45 p.m. Those wishing to attend are welcome, proof of vaccinations and masks are required.
