It is with deep sadness that the family of Darian Obrotza announces his passing on August 5, 2021, at St. John's Hospice in Vancouver, Canada.

Darian was a proud member of the Fort Garry Lions Football team, Ukrainian organizations such as Plast Ukrainian Youth Association and the Tyrsa Ukrainian choir. He may be most remembered for his love of music, travel, literature, and being a great dancer.

Darian is survived by his wife and children, as well as by his mother Helena, sisters, Narda (Grant) Goulet, Andrea (Peter) Singh, and Larisa Waters. Darian is survived also by many nieces and nephews.
A small memorial service will take place on October 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church led by Father John Mostiwsky.

"Your memory and spirit will stay with us in our hearts forever. We pray that your soul finds peace and eternal Love as you travel back to the hands of God."

• I am so sad to hear this news, Dari was a really good friend in high school and college, heaven got a really kind humble man, and I agree a great dancer, now in the presence of the Lord ! - Posted by: Michael Dean Chorneyko (Friend ) on: Oct 09, 2021

  • Darian touched my life and indeed he did so with many. I had the honor of knowing Darian from a young age and onward -- through early school years and through University and into marriage and family and children. Darian was a gem of an individual and a true gentleman -- he loved his family with passion and from a young age I saw him take care of and be protector of his Mother and his beautiful Sisters. Darian had a smile that lit up the room but there was ever so much more to him, behind the smile. He lived with faith and he lived with integrity. My deep condolence to his wife and his children and to his Mother and to his Sisters and all family and friends. His memory will not be lost and I am grateful for the road that I shared in knowing him. - Posted by: Yvonne Buchanan-Sedun (friend) on: Oct 09, 2021
