SUSAN KUNCEWICZ
(nee KNIPS)
August 10, 1934 - October 1, 2021
Susan leaves behind her son Ron (Phyllis) and daughter Sandera Stonoga (David). Also left to cherish Oma's memory are her grandchildren, Ashleigh (David), Nicholas (Megan), Chelsea (Tyler), Graeme (Michelle), and Reid. She was predeceased by her husband Alex in 2003.
Susan was born in Emden, Germany and immigrated to Canada when she was 19. She married Alex in 1956 and together they raised their family.
Susan was a long-time employee of Zellers, where she made many close friends. She was an avid bowler and travelled the continent for many tournaments. As a die-hard Bombers and Jets fan she loved game days. She enjoyed watching all sports and loved to talk about her favourite NFL team, the Seattle Seahawks, the Ladies PGA, and soccer. Come rain or shine, Oma cheered on her grandchildren at all their games. She loved being at the lake and took great pride in the flower gardens she planted there every year. Oma also loved her family visits and always had interesting life stories to share with her grandchildren. Memories of our Christmas Eve dinners will always be held close to our hearts.
Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at the Grace Hospice. They became Oma's extended family with their kindness and compassion. They were all truly Oma's angels.
A private family interment will take place at Glen Eden Cemetery. If you wish to honour Oma's memory, please donate to Siloam Mission or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
We love you Oma!

We met through the window at Grace Hospice and established instant friendships. What a privilege it was to have these weekly visits as Susan cranked open her window to enable conversation. Our lives are enriched by these brief but precious times together. With the family, our hearts share in the grief of loss and the celebration of cherished memories. “Bird-feeding window visitors” Betty and Norm - Posted by: Betty and Norm (Friends) on: Oct 14, 2021
