It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 68.
She will be lovingly missed by her husband Carlos; children: Kathy, Nilton, Debbie and Roberto; her sister Odete (Filipe), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and many other family and friends.
Maria was predeceased by her parents, Manuel and Maria Luiza Pacheco.
Maria came from Sao Miguel, Açores to Canada in 1966. Arriving as a teenager, she attended Tec Voc High School. She worked at Versatile, Bank of Montreal, and Fabricland.
Maria was a devoted wife and mother who worked tirelessly for her family. Her family was always her main priority. She loved to sew and generously shared her creations with family and friends.
Maria was a kind soul with a generous heart and a beautiful smile that she shared with everyone. The world will be a little darker without her.
The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview for the care and kindness shown to Maria.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 21 at 11:00 a.m., with viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m., at St. Peter's Church, 748 Keewatin Street. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery. Due to Covid restrictions, proof of vaccination is required to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Maria's memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, CancerCare Manitoba, or other charity of your choice.
