JEAN VERA LYONS
Jean is survived by her loving sons, David (Dianne), Jim (Debbie), and Neil (Loretta); eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Casey), Matthew (Laura), Steve (Lori), Chris (Kendall), Mike (Janice), Katie (Jordie), Isabella, and Georgia; and her nephew Howell (Shelly). She was predeceased by her mother and father; brother-in-law Lenard; sister-in-law Mary; and sister-in-law Muriel (Ed) Meadows.
Jean grew up in London, her mother passed away when she was only three so Jean was mothered by her Aunt Connie in rural England. Jean met Allan at a Canadian Air Force dance and fell for him immediately, they married in 1947. They moved to Canada, Jean found herself a gardener enjoying the rich, red river soil of Manitoba. Jean became the first women president of both Winnipeg and Manitoba horticultural societies. Jean moved to Edmonton opening 'Deck the halls' flower shop. We all know Jean has found her garden of peace in Heaven. Jean enjoyed time tending to her gardens at her different homes and spending time with her family.

My sincere sympathy to the family in their loss. My late wife and I have many fond memories of Jean and Al particularly when they lived in Winnipeg. - Posted by: Alan Taylor (Friends) on: Oct 23, 2021
