  • I’m so sorry for your loss. Tullio was an amazing man, very encouraging and so positive. He was always happy and loved to help. Beautiful memories. Bless your family Gwen. My heart breaks for you! - Posted by: Ungelica (Friend) on: Nov 21, 2021

  • Our Deepest Condolences Gwen and Family. My earliest memory of Tullio was putting his Dad first. He bought a hat for his dad with letters "VIP" on the front. VIP I said? Yes Dario, he's A - Very Important Pop! Gwen, his children, and grandchildren were his priority in life and what he liked to talk about often. Coming in second place were deals on trailers or boats! We would go for Lunch and he always paid. I remember Tullio giving me a chance with a mortgage at the credit union when my credit score was low, but he believed in me. He always had positive words and solutions whenever I was in a tight spot. He gave me my start in rental properties and for that I'm very grateful. Later on, he had a wild Idea to form a Soccer team and invite all my cousins to play! Team name -Abruzzi Attack! Wow, such fun times and family bonding! Tullio, we are going to miss your kindness, compassion and zest for life. Rest In Paradise my good man Tullio, you are deeply loved. • Gwen, Hannah, Talbot and family, we are so very sorry and saddened to hear of Tullio’s passing. Our love and prayers are with you. My first memory of Tullio is when I (Connie) went to attend the New Comers lunch at Church of the Rock many years ago, but hesitated outside the door. Tullio came by, opened the door for me, and with his welcoming smile encouraged me to go in. It made all the difference in the start of attending church there. And has Heather Tuba mentioned, I also have great memories of our kids playing together at the Pembina location. I pray God’s peace over all of you. - Posted by: Connie and Mark Brown (Friend) on: Oct 29, 2021

  • I had the pleasure of working in the same branch as Tullio for just a short period of time, but it was clear right away that he was a kind and compassionate man who loved his family and spoke of them with such pride. On my last day of work before my retirement he came into the branch on a saturday with a bouquet of flowers and said this many years of employment deserved to be celebrated. • Tullio was not only my boss but a friend and mentor. He pushed me to achieve more and helped pave the way for my career I don't think I knew anyone less selfish than Tullio, no matter the situation or what was going on his life, Tullio would always put others needs ahead of his own. That's is such rare quality and it is something that I will truly miss. Over the last year working together, Tullio become an influence in my life and helped me achieve more out of my career. • Tullio was one of the most awesome human beings I've met. He was always giving 100% - to his family, his friends, his faith, and whatever job - paid or volunteer - he had on the go. And he did all this with exuberance and a love for life and those around him. Spending five minutes with Tullio was like watching a motivational speaker for an hour. He just made you want to give your best to the world. I will miss him. - Posted by: Scott Janke (neighbor and friend) on: Oct 28, 2021

  • Gwen, Talbot and Hannah, and extended family, we are so deeply sorry for your loss. Tullio and I go way back as we grew up 1 house apart in our humble beginnings in St. James near Polo Park. The early D’Ottavio home was seemingly full of sisters but then one day out emerged a 3-4 year old little boy with the loudest most hilarious laugh who was always smiling and laughing. I was a few years older then him but always enjoyed his tagging along in those younger years as he was such a happy kid. We lost touch when we moved out of the neighborhood but in our adult years we always seemed to be reconnecting and unbeknownst to us following similar paths. We ran into each other quite often when Tullio worked at CBIC on Ellice and I was at Bristol Aerospace. Years later we started running into each other downtown as he was now with the Credit Union and I was with the MB Gov. It was probably about that same time around the early years of COTR on Pembina that we reconnected once again. I think Nova had already met Gwen at the church several times connecting through the kids as they were all still very young. Of course the D’Ottavio name didn’t mean anything to Nova but when I learned of it, I was almost certain it had to be Tullio! Sure enough it was and soon enough I was greeted by him with his warm handshake, his huge smile, and his incredible infectious laugh! When he laughed you couldn’t help but laugh yourself! Soon we discovered that we had both married Saskatoon girls and both bought homes in St James (then later both bought homes in Charleswood). We will always cherish the homegroup seasons we had together when the kids were young and life was so so busy. So sad that the last couple of years had limited our opportunities to connect. When I hear that laughter again I know I have arrived...until we meet again my friend, until we meet again! - Posted by: Roger and Nova Pachet (life long friend) on: Oct 28, 2021

  • Tullio was more than a boss to me, he was a great mentor and better friend. I had the honour of working for him over the last year, and there was not a moment where I didn’t think “this is a special human”. Tullio lived and breathed the tenant of the golden rule, he would give the shirt off his back to someone if they needed it. I will be eternally grateful for the life lessons he taught me and the patience and support he provided. My heart goes out to the D’Ottavio family, you have my prayers and condolences. - Posted by: Quinton Chambers (Friend) on: Oct 28, 2021

  • Tullio was a prince among men. From the fist time I met him til the day he went home he treated me with total acceptance, love, great generosity, respect and kindness. Every time I came to visit and no matter how long I stayed Tullio would have my luggage out of the car and into the spare bedroom before I had my shoes off. (that meant a lot to me.) He treated my sister like a queen and his kids and granddaughter as the most important people in his life. My heart breaks for Gwen, Hannah, Jason, Mila and Talbot. Our lives are changed forever and the huge hole in our hearts will take along time to fill. I love Tullio goodbye. - Posted by: Karen Barss (Sister in law) on: Oct 28, 2021
