JEAN ELIZABETH KAMKE
She is survived by her two daughters, Diane Kamke, Debbie (Tim) Thorkelson and one son David Kamke; two grandsons, Jonathon Shkolny (Sarah Bezan), Adam Shkolny; two step-grandsons, Adam Thorkelson, Luke Thorkelson (Kristin Phillips); and one great-grandson baby Graeme Edward Bezan Shkolny; sister Mary MacLeod and brother Ed Teplyski (Arlene); sisters-in-law, Bertha Leitch and Martha Hart; special friends Jean called her "kids" and "grandchildren", numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, and very special friends, Francis Cormier, Mary Czechowski and Louise Gagne-Chuhie.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Gus Kamke, father Martin Domanski, mother Mary (John) Teplyski, brother Danny Teplyski, sister Evelyn Olson and other long since passed relatives and friends.
Jean was born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan on February 22, 1935. She grew up a few miles from Libau, Manitoba, married the love of her life, Gus Kamke. They raised their three children on the Kamke family homestead. She enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds, gardening, canning, entertaining by throwing parties at home with family and friends, serving her delicious meals and desserts, especially her homemade perogies (she was named the "Perogy Queen"). Jean loved it when the children from babies to adults dropped over to visit and when she could visit them. Travelling around North America to visit family, friends and touring was very special to her, especially with Gus.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Selkirk Tyndall Building, especially Jeff Wood (Jean's Social Worker) and a very special thank you to Bonny Makarchuk (Jean's grandniece), also the Selkirk Regional Health Centre, especially Dr. C. Ota. A sincere thank you on behalf of Jean's family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Dave Kamke, Adam Shkolny, Tim Thorkelson, Randy Gerylo, Darcy Olson and Richard Manitowich.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on October 29, 2021 in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, Manitoba.
Due to Covid restrictions, the private service will be by invitation only, but will be live streamed and remain accessible at the following link https://youtu.be/drTuJFyKnMQ
Interment will follow at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Libau, Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to your favourite charity.

I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your mom Diane, Debbie, and David and your families, my most sincere condolences to you all, your mom was a wonderful lady, she always made me feel welcome whenever I us to visit her when I was a young child, teenager and now adult, she had some great advice to always give, lovely stories to share and warmth in sharing her love and yummy food.
