HARLEY RAY BANTING
July 25, 1995 October 23, 2021
He leaves to mourn his loving partner, Michelle Matthews, his parents, Sharon and Tim Banting, grandmothers, Glad Penner and Eileen Banting, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Hardy Penner and Syd Banting, as well as his uncle, Robin Banting.
Harley loved the outdoors; camping, canoeing, snowmobiling and snowboarding. He loved animals and took so much comfort from his three cats, Omen, Haze and Aurora during these past months. He loved everything related to Dungeons and Dragons, especially hosting, and enjoyed playing pretty much any board game. But most of all he loved Michelle, their home, and the life they were dreaming of building together.
Sleep well, Harley, our hearts are broken and we will love you forever.
A private family service will take place shortly. A celebration of Harley's life will take place at a later date.
If you so desire, donations can be made to the Terry Fox Research Foundation or CancerCare Manitoba in Harley's honour. Make a donation to

We are so deeply saddened to hear this news that Harley has passed, as you were to recently hear our Justin passed 5 years ago. We have so many happy memories of the past and fun times with you all and thank you for your message to us as well. There are no words to convey how this loss feels as parents and siblings of such a tragic heartbreak. We understand. Our hearts are with you, and our ears and shoulders are here for you. You need not be alone. - Posted by: Patricia St. Hilaire (Friend) on: Jan 06, 2022

Harley was probably the most memorable person I’ve ever met in my life and I’m choked to find out about his passing. He was as cracked as he was intelligent and I dearly miss the days we worked and hung out. His adventures were nothing short of legend and folklore. Rest In Peace Harley. - Posted by: Zephaniah Reimer (Co-worker Caledon Propane) on: Dec 26, 2021

It was an absolutely honour to play in Harley's D&D campaign for the last several years. In all my decades, I have never experienced anyone who could craft such a staggeringly immersive and interactive game. His creativity and world-building were unmatched and could fill volumes. We weep for the loss of his life, and the stories he had yet to tell. - Posted by: Nathan (friend) on: Oct 30, 2021
