Andrij passed on October 25, 2021, at the age of 31.
He attended Immaculate Heart of Mary School, was president of the student body at Meadows West Middle School and graduated from Garden City Collegiate. He was working as a sub contractor and looking forward to restructuring a new business.
Andrij was blessed with a caring heart, gentle smiles, laughter, kindness and to know him was to love him. Beloved son, this is your legacy. Gone away too soon. So much future ahead of you. Now you live in the memories of those who knew you, shared time with you and spoke into your life. I know you are cradled in the Peace of the Lord surrounded by predeceased Dido Andrij, Baba Magdalyna, your godfather Bruce, grandparents in Croatia and beloved childhood friend Bato. You are now released from the pain, illnesses, and heavy burdens of this imperfect world. You can now soar in God's trust and promise of Lasting Life.
You leave behind a mother's grieving heart, your father Ivan and two half sisters, Zdenka and Marian, godmother Lesia, and extended family. You will be missed by so many. Your last precious words to me were "I love you, mom."
Visitation and viewing on Sunday, November 7, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Korban Funeral Chapel.
Private service to be held due to COVID restrictions. Father Bohdan Lukie CSsR and Pastor Gilbert Plante officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please forward in memory donations to Seven Oaks Education Foundation, 830 Powers St., Winnipeg, MB R2V 4E7.

  • Sincerest condolences on the passing of your beautiful son. We have many fond memories of Andrew and his years at Meadows West. He was often in the dog house at school, but each incident was full of humour. On one particular occasion, Andrew got in trouble with a substitute teacher who asked his name prior to shipping him off to the principal. “Dick Richards” he cheerfully blurted out. I can only imagine the confusion in the office when they learned Dick Richards was on his way to see the principal! Ever after, Andrew was Dick Richards, accompanied by a smile and a wink, in our house. May you be at peace now, Andrew Dick Richards.
