KATHLEEN RAMSAY HARVEY
Mom was born in Chennai (Madras), India in 1934 where she spent most of childhood both in Coonoor and Chennai. She was educated in India, Switzerland, France, and England. It was as a student at the University of London where she met the love of her life, Brian. She and Brian immigrated from England to Canada in 1967 and called it home for the last 55 years. After living in most of the prairie provinces she settled with the family in Winnipeg in 1974. She worked at the Winnipeg School Board for many years teaching both special needs and preschool aged children. She loved supporting "her" kids as they grew up and made their way in the world. Kay was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and, most recently, GG.
She leaves a legacy of kindness and love along with three children, Rob (partner Diane), Nikki (spouse Tony), Neil (spouse Kim), six grandchildren, Marc, Sarah, Colin, Andrew, Kordan, and Jarin, and three great-grandchildren, Sloane, Rebekah, and Hanna.
During her last days Mom reflected on how good her life had been, all the things she got to do and the people she got to meet. One of her favourite memories was of a return trip to India with Brian to visit old friends and see familiar places.
We want to thank all the doctors and nurses at the Ottawa General Hospital for all the kindness and attention she received in her last days.
In lieu of flowers, please remember Kay with a donation to a charity of your choice. We will miss her until we meet again.
A celebration of her life will be held at Rossmere Golf and Country Club, 925 Watt Street, Winnipeg on Friday, November 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

I am so saddened to hear about the passing of Kay. I'm the daughter of Edna McFarland, who attended university with Kay back in Regina when I was a pre-schooler. I know my Mom really liked Kay, and truly missed her when Kay moved to Winnipeg with her family. My Mom and I had some fun trips there to visit the Harvey Family, and I remember both how Kay was extremely welcoming and how Nikki was genuinely happy to include me. Nikki please feel free to reach out since I'd love to hear from you. In closing, condolences from the McFarland Family (Sheila, Jeff and Terry, together with our parents Dave and Edna may they rest in peace). - Posted by: Sheila McFarland (Friend of family) on: Nov 20, 2023

I met Kay 18 years ago at GNSC; I started there as a fitness and later Pilates instructor and Kay was one of my first participants; I remember her sweet smile and her blue eyes. When I went to London she lent me a tube card, it was a kind gesture she had. I will miss her a lot. I remember one time Nikki came to visit her and came to the Pilates class with Kay. - Posted by: Claudia Chernitsky (work) on: Nov 09, 2021

Memories is now what We have with my dear grandmother. Moments I will always remember are our meetings in the back yard at dads having chats about the ups and downs of this life we live. The Sunday dinner evenings spent talking about our past week and plans for the week ahead. It’s funny cause grandma learned to text and we would always text one another checking in on each other’s well being… check in once in awhile now grandma (dreams please) Most of all the memories I will cherish is the kind gestures and her loving personality and warm smiles grandma “always” shared with all who crossed her path. I will miss you so much grandma, till we meet again, love you xoxo Marc - Posted by: Marc (Grandson) on: Nov 09, 2021

I don’t think one could ask for lovelier neighbours than Kay, and now Rob. My “over the fence” chats with Kay, and sharing of what’s going on through life are special to me. I also thought her relationship with Mark was so precious as I’d often see then sit and chat in the backyard for long periods. Each year on my daughter’s birthday, there’d be a present in the mailbox from neighbour Kay for Juliette. I know she always picked books for her with great thought and we treasure them. I am so sorry she’s passed. Rob, Mark and family, wish you both much peace and support as you remember her. - Posted by: Jean and Juliette (Neighbours ) on: Nov 06, 2021
