BRIAN DOUGLAS LATOSKI
February 3, 1956 – October 30, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Latoski after a four year courageous battle with cancer.
He was predeceased by his mother, Marion in 2012 and his father, Leo in 2020.
Brian will be lovingly remembered by his partner, Ida Bodnar, his sisters, Pam (Gary), Dawn (Stephen), and his brothers, Lawrence and Glen (Cindy).
Brian was born in Nakina, Ontario. He grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario then moved to Winnipeg in 1978.
We are particularly grateful for the love Ida has shown Brian and the support she provided him in his final years.
Brian was a long haul truck driver for much of his life, first with Trappers Transport then at Turk Enterprise, then he decided to change paths and stay in the city where he worked for Borland Construction driving gravel truck until he went on medical leave in 2018. He valued and maintained his many friendships from Thunder Bay and Winnipeg.
Brian was a social butterfly chatterbox and was well liked by many friends at the "Cav" and the Elmwood Legion throughout. He loved going to the Legion for the Saturday meat draws until he was not able to because of his illness.
His passion was hockey. In his younger years, he played for the Knights of Columbus in Thunder Bay and the Simon Day hockey team in Winnipeg. He was a passionate Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bomber fan. He loved watching all NHL hockey on TV, often switching channels back and forth to watch the different games. He looked forward to watching Nascar on TV.
Brian was a great cook. His specialty was making chop suey. He was kind hearted and always looking out for everyone. He remained extremely positive throughout his diagnosis and treatments and even during his illness Brian was always willing to help anyone that reached out to him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do something nice for someone else expectantly and without explanation.
Cremation has taken place and Brian will be buried in Thunder Bay at a later date.

You are now at peace Brian
and "going home"
