JACQUELINE DAWN OTTO
She was born on October 15, 1968 in Pinawa Manitoba, to parents, Fran and Robert. She lived and attended school in Pinawa until she was ready to move to Winnipeg and embark on a Nursing career.
She was predeceased by her father Robert and brother Trevor Otto. She is survived by her mother Fran, sister Jodine, brother-in-law Raymond and nieces, Lauren and Michelle.
Jackie graduated from Misericordia Nursing School and worked at the Emergency Department at Misericordia and St. Boniface Hospitals. She was admired by many doctors, nurses, staff and patients for her hard work and compassion. She inspired both her nieces to enter careers in the medical field.
She had many fun times with family and friends in Pinawa, Gladstone, Churchill, MB and Kamsack, SK. Jackie enjoyed listening to music and attending concerts. She loved cooking and trying out different foods at local restaurants. She travelled with Jodi to various countries where she enjoyed local cuisine, culture and tropical settings and was thrilled to hold a large stingray.
She was very close to many cousins and relatives across Canada and good friends like Leslie Ohare, Pat Pitman, Renee, Tracy, Brenda, Donna, Shirlee, Nancy, and Carole. Erin and Jackie became good friends and work colleagues and said that Jackie was the kindest and strongest woman she has ever known.
Thank you to Dr. Pits and all nurses and staff at CancerCare Manitoba for treating her with such respect and doing all you could do.
Till we meet again. We love and miss you.
Cremation has taken place through Korban Funeral Chapel.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

It was always a pleasure working with her, we had some good times. I’m thankful I knew her and witnessed her care and compassion to all of her patients. I’m glad I was able to send her cards and keep in touch once she left work. She’ll always in my thoughts and prayers. Glad we caught up a little a few years ago. She will forever be in my heart. - Posted by: Monique (Coworker) on: Nov 17, 2021

There are no words for the terrible tragedies that the Otto family has endured over the past year first with the loss of Trevor and now with the loss of Jackie. May you take solace in the memories you shared with them and hopefully in time comfort that they are reunited with your husband and father in heaven. - Posted by: Jeffrey Bresler (Friend) on: Nov 11, 2021

Oh my heavens, I am just finding out about your beloved Jackie. I used to work in Churchill with Trevor and knew Jackie through him. She loved her visits to the north and loved seeing her brother. Your loss is great and I am so sorry to hear this. She was a lovely woman who enjoyed her time on this earth and gave great memories to all she met. My sincere condolences. - Posted by: Julie Hetherington (Friend) on: Nov 11, 2021

Jacky will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Never met a more positive happy woman than her and all the pain she went through fighting cancer. She came out with a group of us Pinawa folks skating on the red than had wings with us and never complained about her situation. God bless her and her extended family. - Posted by: Ron Frechette (high school friend from Pinawa) on: Nov 09, 2021

My condolences to Jackie’s family and friends. She was a wonderful person and an amazing co-worker! Outside of work, we had the opportunity to enjoy the odd concert, as well as sip a beer on a neighbourhood patio. A strong and resilient woman, who will be missed by many. - Posted by: Dale Schenk (Colleague from St. B ER) on: Nov 06, 2021

I met Jackie at HSC CancerCare when our daughter Heather was going for treatments. She was a very lovely person and Heather and Jackie I believe had a few coffee dates. Heather passed away on March 17, 2019 but I have always thought about Jackie. They can now have coffee together once again. - Posted by: Rachel Lachnit (Friend) on: Nov 06, 2021
