Sadly, after a year long battle with cancer, dad passed away peacefully at the age of 87.
Don (Woody) as he was known by his friends, leaves to cherish his memory his wife Brenda of 52 years; daughter Tracy (Brian); his son Jeff (Sammy-Jo) and grandsons, Aidan and Caleb.
Don worked as a body shop repairman throughout his life, until he took on his own shop on Langside street. From there, he retired to do the things he loved. Dad was an avid lover of antique cars and would spend many summers going to car shows, swap meets, festivals and watching car shows on tv. He especially loved going to Minneapolis every summer and to High River, AB for the car shows. He loved to tell stories from his youth and the shenanigans that he and his friends would get into.
We will truly miss dad's stories. Our family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre 3East that took care of dad during his final days. You are angels and we will be forever grateful for the care and compassion you gave him during his end of life. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
A private celebration of Dad's life will take place Monday, November 8, 2021.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I grew up spending so many fun times camping with my parents, Don, Brenda and Jeff. We shared many dinners at the Wood’s and Don always had a way of making us all laugh with his excitement in sharing life’s stories. I’ll never forget that infectious laughter. We’re so blessed to have friends like Don, Brenda, Jeff and Tracy. We’re so sorry for your precious loss. Sending prayers to you Don and your amazing family. • Gone is a special friend, husband, father and and grandfather. You worked way too hard on this earth. I hope you have found a glorious beach to just relax and don’t forget your “sunglasses”. We will miss your sense of humour and your laugh. We love you long time. Rest in peace my friend. With lots of love. • Uncle Don, there are not enough words for the unique man you are. Memories of you with a disposable camera always ready for action. Also a story to tell. You will forever be in heart and in my mind. Love, Dawnie - Posted by: Dawnie (Niece) on: Nov 06, 2021
