ALEXANDRA (SONIA) BURDZ
May 25, 1928 - November 7, 2021

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sonia Burdz on November 7, 2021.
Sonia will be sadly missed by her son Paul (Shirley) Burdz, daughter Lucy (Claude) Landry; and her grandchildren, Sean (Ann) Landry, and Kyle (Anna) Landry; and her great-grandchildren, Nikolai, Aleksandra, and John.
Sonia was predeceased by her husband John Burdz; her brothers, Valentin, Melvin and Lawrence Rusiecki; and her sister Zena Bobyn.
Sonia was born in 1928 in Zalesie, Belarus. She immigrated to Canada after the Second World War. She always said Canada was like heaven. She worked hard for many years but made time to enjoy life.
Being with family and friends was most important to Sonia. She was always there to lend a helping hand; she always had a song to sing, and a joke to share. We will miss your loving embrace and your smiling face.
Our family would like to thank the nursing staff and everyone for their compassionate care and for helping make our mother's stay comfortable during her time at the Holy Family Nursing Home.
Prayers will be held on Wednesday, November 10, at 7:00 p.m., at Cropo Funeral Home, 1442 Main Street. Funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel on Friday, November 12, at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
Cropo Funeral Chapel requires proof of vaccination to enter their Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, our family would like you to consider a donation to the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, 643 Manitoba Avenue.
