Anno was born October 7, 1940 in Langweer, Friesland, The Netherlands. He immigrated to Canada with his parents and family in 1955 where they settled in Winnipeg, MB. Anno was employed by the Canadian Pacific Railway for 39 years until his retirement in 1996.
Anno was predeceased by his beloved wife Juliette; his parents, Hoite and Ida; his sister Kay, and brother Harmen.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his son Michael (Pamela) and grandkids, Erin, Derek, Owen and Mitchell; his daughter Sharon (Chris) and grandson Jordan; his brother Wieger; his sisters, Antje and Alida, and their respective families. He shall be missed by Susan Szabo, for to find a wonderful humble man and best friend is more than anyone can have.
Anno was kind, honest, and he cherished family values. He will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by all who knew him.
A private ceremony is to be held with immediate family as per Anno's wishes. He will be laid to rest beside his wife and parents at Chapel Lawn cemetery in Winnipeg, MB.
No winter without a spring
And beyond the dark horizon
Our hearts will once more sing...
For those who leave us for a while
Have only gone away
Out of a restless, care worn world
Into a brighter day.
