January 5, 1948 - October 26, 2021

Suddenly and tragically, Pat's life was taken in the small Town of Faro, YT.
Survived by his wife and love of his life Barb; children, Colleen, Keith, Ryan, Vickie (Garth) Brandy (Del), Rachel; grandchildren, Alex, Mya, Cael, Stephanie, Alicia, Cody, Aurora; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Brian (Cec), Gail (Dan), Susie (Andrew); longtime friends, Mel, Clem, Bob, Dawn and Mike, and many loved relatives and extended family. Predeceased by his parents and infant daughter Denise.
Pat was the epitome of a life well lived and anyone who knew Pat has a memorable story to share of their time with him. He was a man of honour, commitment, integrity and compassion. He faced each day with a joy for life, an optimism for the future. He had the good fortune to be blessed with a great sense of humour, the gift of forgiveness and an appreciation of the simple joy of a home cooked meal with his best friend Barb. To his friends and family, he was respected, admired, deeply loved, a man of his word and it was a privilege to know him.
Leaving his hometown of Winnipeg in 1975, he headed to the Yukon for a mining opportunity and the beautiful town of Faro stole his heart. Pat spent the rest of his life in a place he considered to be heaven on earth. A mechanic, baker, miner, trapper, hunting guide, town foreman and town councilor, his life experiences were many and varied. He built a plane, a log home, a few chopped Harleys, an air boat, could fix anything and could even alter a wedding gown or bake a pie, he just never lost his zeal for learning and life. Pat was a longtime Faroite and possessed a wealth of information that could only be gained by a life of experience up North. He was the human version of Google for the Town of Faro. From his early mining days, to his "retirement" then working for Boreal Engineering he touched the lives of many that will never forget that twinkle in his eye, his beautiful smile & the best laugh ever!
Though taken from us too soon, the love of his family, the North, the people he cherished and the memories he made will help heal this devastating loss. Pat would want Faro to heal and not let this tragedy overshadow the great people and the beautiful town he called home.
A memorial in Pat's honour will be held in the summer of 2022.
