BRUCE HILL LANG
January 16, 1928 - November 4, 2021
Bruce was born in Winnipeg and passed peacefully in Vancouver, BC.
Predeceased by his parents, George Reginald and Gladys Emma (Hogben) Lang; he is survived by cousins in Canada and the UK.
Bruce graduated from Gordon Bell High School before working for the Winnipeg Electric Company in 1947. In 1948 he began a 24 year career in the insurance industry, employed by Stratton Whitaker Ltd., and the Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance Company. In 1972 Bruce was appointed first Administrative Director of newly formed Manitoba Opera Association, retiring in 1992. Upon retirement he was awarded the City of Winnipeg Community Service Award.
An active member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church he served as a chorister and for many years as a member of the Vestry. Bruce was a member of the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir serving as president for three consecutive terms.
In 1996 he moved to BC residing in Victoria for four years, then making his home in Vancouver until his passing.
Cremation has taken place and interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Winnipeg.
