KENNETH WALTER (KEN) JAHNS
March 15, 1967 - November 14, 2021

With broken hearts we announce the sudden and unexpected death of our beloved Ken on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at St. Boniface Hospital from complications of pancreatic cancer.
He will be dearly missed by his Mom Shirley; his sisters, Pat (Dan), Phyllis (Ted); and special good friends, Donovan and Dave. He also leaves many relatives along with several stepsisters and stepbrothers.
We have lost you far too soon, Ken.
He was predeceased by his dad Walter in 1991 and his stepdad Len Mulvey in 2008.
Ken lived life on his own terms with an entrepreneurial spirit. His great sense of humour never faltered, always entertaining those in his company with witty remarks and observations. He loved sports and had a soft spot for animals. As a child he wanted to take in every stray dog and cat he found. He had a special knack with electronics and was adept at solving problems with devices. He was never happier than when playing around with computers and such. He was very appreciative of the wonderful care he received at St. Boniface, Health Sciences Centre and Riverview facilities.
Ken received his education at Balmoral, Argyle and Stonewall schools. For several years he was actively involved with the family business, Jahn's General Store, Balmoral and in 2002 moved to Winnipeg.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service.
In memory of Ken, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E 0V9 or a charity of your choice.

Love you always, Ken and will forever
miss you. Till we meet again little
fellow, as Grandma used to call you.

  • My family and I always enjoyed seeing Ken at the General Store. He had great advice as to which movie to rent and his wit was unmatched. My favourite story about Ken is when my mom Charlotte was looking to purchase a new broom. She could not find any in the usual place and asked Ken for assistance. He looked in the back of the store and returned shaking his head saying, “Sorry Mrs. Greig, we’re all out of brooms.” Without skipping a beat he asked, “Do you need a ride home?” Makes me smile every time I recall this memory. God bless Ken and all his family and special friends. Take care. - Posted by: Lara Cliffe nee Greig (Balmoral community member) on: Nov 21, 2021

  • Kenny was one of the first people I met in Balmoral! Always funny and on top of the wit pile of all us kids! You know how you remember people’s laughter? I remember him laughing so hard no sound would come out. Very sad to hear this…. I also remember when my dog went missing, him being comforting, considering how much he razzed me and I razzed him. I remembered that. Rest well Ken! See you in the other side. - Posted by: Holly Beasse McGillvray (School friend ) on: Nov 20, 2021
