JAMES DANIEL HERKERT
Left to mourn his passing are parents Paul and Carol, sister Tara-Lea, nephews Ashton, Julian and Keiran, along with aunts and cousins, among other extended family.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Jamie sought work in Fort McMurray as a young adult. He spent the rest of his life in Alberta, largely out of touch with family who had tried to help him during his troubled youth. He benefited from the kindness of Edmontonians over the years as he struggled with addiction and its associated repercussions.
The family wishes to thank the ICU staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton for treating Jamie with kindness and dignity during his final days.
In his memory, donations may be made to Boyle Street Community Services in Edmonton at www.boylestreet.org

Jamie is the love of my love. He gave everything to me and my daughter Jordan Ann. He loved Jordan with everything he had. We love him in everything we have. There isn't a day that goes by where I wish I could see his smile or hear his laugh. Hold him tight. God this just hurts so much. We love u always and forever. - Posted by: Amy minchin (Love and mother of jordan ann) on: Mar 25, 2022

I coached and taught Jamie many years ago at Sturgeon Creek. He was an interesting character and a very loyal teammate. I remember him fondly and am very sad to hear of his passing. Thoughts and prayers to his family from the Schrofels. - Posted by: Rob Schrofel (Teacher and coach) on: Nov 20, 2021
