Gary was born March 15, 1949 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, growing up in Weston. He attended school at Weston, Cecil Rhodes, Tec Voc and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate, going on to study Drafting & Design at Red River College. In high school Gary was an avid athlete in

Gary's hobbies included dogsledding with his Irish Setters, fishing, guitar, photography and numerous home improvements. Bobbie and Gary spent many summers working and building their cottage on Sandy Lake. Gary loved to draw and enjoyed creating hand-drawn pet portraits for friends and family. After retirement, Gary and Bobbie enjoyed
travelling as snowbirds to Florida, Texas and Arizona.
Gary battled many health issues over the years, including a liver transplant in 2004. Thank you to Dr. Jeff Weibe, Dr. Peretz, nurse Vicki and the staff at Selkirk Regional Health Centre for Gary's care.

The life video of Gary was wonderful...what a tribute to a fine man. Gary was a quiet person but when he spoke you listened. He had wisdom, grace, and patience. Of course at 5 ft 6" I always had to Look Up to Gary (Way Up) and enjoyed working with him at Westeel for many years. - Posted by: David Magrel (Friend) on: Nov 24, 2021
