Date of Passing: Nov 10, 2021Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory
Left to mourn his passing are his children, Michael, Amanda and their families; stepchildren, Wayne and Daryl and their families; brothers, Fred (Mavis) and Victor (Carey); sisters, Margaret (John), Lila, Rita (Eugene), and Marlene (Harold); along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends who will miss him dearly.
Raymond was predeceased by his life partner and soulmate Sybil Finnson; parents, James and Maryann Peebles; brothers, Jim, Andy, and Kenny; and sisters, Dorothy, Marge and Shirley.
Raymond was born on June 17, 1939, in Lockport, Manitoba. He met his sweetie Sybil in 1980 and spent many wonderful years together. He retired with 33 years of service from St. Andrews Lock and Dam. Ray was an avid sports fan cheering on his Blue Jays, Winnipeg Jets, Selkirk Steelers and curling. He enjoyed volunteering at the Gordon Howard Centre, bird watching at Oak Hammock Marsh and Selkirk Lion's Centre.
Ray loved being surrounded by family at BBQ's, birthdays and other celebrations. He enjoyed watching his nieces and nephew's sports activities, fishing, playing pool and meeting friends for coffee. Together Ray and Sybil enjoyed square dancing and camping at Hecla Island and Pointe Du Bois. Their love of travelling took them to Nova Scotia, British Columbia, and Alberta with many road trips visiting friends and family along the way.
The family would like to thank the residents at Selkirk Lion's Centre, paramedics and Selkirk Regional Health Centre staff for their efforts, care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Raymond's memory to the Gordon Howard Centre.

Many fond memories of Ray & Sybil. While my memories are more to do with bird watching, Percy & Ray we’re friends from way back. Condolences to all the family and friends. RIP. “How beautiful heaven must be.” - Posted by: Caroline Stevenson (Friend) on: Nov 24, 2021
