Condolences & Memories (6 entries)
I attended police recruit class in 1978 and Jack was one of my instructors. Our paths over the next 40 years crossed from time to time, ending with my role in the construction of the new police headquarters and Jack's role as the museum curator. During the entire 40 years my impression of “Sgt Templeman” remained the same. A real gentleman, well respected by all, an example to follow, even keeled and above reproach. While he may not have known it until our last interactions, he was a police officer whom I worked hard to emulate. I will fondly remember him always. - Posted by: Henry Hagenaars (Co-worker) on: Mar 24, 2022
JACK WAS A REAL GENTLEMAN AND A GREAT SERGEANT TO WORK FOR, I WILL MISS HIM BUT I WILL NEVER FORGET HIM. - Posted by: JOHN CASON (FRIEND AND ONE TIME WORKMATE) on: Dec 09, 2021
Good man, never heard him angry at all. Always a gentleman and great supervisor. - Posted by: Blake Dunn (Co worker) on: Dec 04, 2021
I’m sorry to hear of Jack’s passing. He was a wonderful supervisor. He had the right stuff to be a leader in the WPS. Sadly, something lacking in organizations similar to the WPS. Jack was a compassionate and understanding friend and leader. I had the pleasure to have him as my supervisor twice in my employment with the WPS. The world has lost a truly great man. I will miss him. Murray Milligan, former workmate. - Posted by: Murray Milligan (Friend) on: Nov 27, 2021
Jack was a colleague and a good friend. His good nature and congeniality was legendary. His dream of a Winnipeg Police Museum came true, as is witnessed by the magnificent state is has become. After my retiring to B.C., I would look forward to visits to Winnipeg and having lunch with Jack which always concluded with a tour of the museum where Jack would proudly display the latest collections. I will miss jack, talking to him by phone and exchanging e-mails. He was a personable and intelligent individual which anyone who met him will surely attest to. - Posted by: Dick Hickling (colleague and friend) on: Nov 27, 2021
