Maurice spent his youth in Letellier where he learned a strong work ethic helping on the family farm. His years attending school in St. Boniface encouraged his talent and appreciation for sport.
He was mechanically inclined and sold and serviced agricultural and construction equipment at Massey Ferguson, CCIL, Case Power, and Prairie Equipment. He retired from Powell Equipment in 2002 as an instructor for heavy-duty mechanics.
Dad married Marie Beaulieu in 1985 and they subsequently built a home in Grande Pointe. The Flood of '97 notwithstanding, they enjoyed maintaining the home and particularly the yard. The couple moved to Villa Béliveau in 2016 to enjoy the company of many friends.
Dad enjoyed hockey, curling, golf and shuffleboard and embarked on many adventures with Marie which included van trips throughout North America and cruises to Hawaii and the Mediterranean. They also spent many winters in McAllen, Texas and thoroughly enjoyed their time with friends at Ridgewood South Campground. Time spent at the lake in Saint-Laurent with his siblings and in-laws were also treasured moments for Maurice.
Dad was active with les Chevaliers de Colomb and faithfully served his parish and community in many capacities. He had prior involvement with la Caisse Populaire, Toastmasters, Parents Without Partners, and Club Béliveau among others.
Pépère truly appreciated the company of his children and his grandchildren who will forever cherish the memories of life lessons taught and fun times together.
Many thanks to the Acute Cardiac Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital.

  • Dear Marie, Tom and I are so sorry to hear of Maurice’s passing. We first met in MMP and enjoyed many years of happy times. Maurice spent endless hours with the computer club, which was a god send for me, as I was a beginner. Maurice also excelled at shuffleboard. We are sending our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Tom & Dianne - Posted by: Dianne Dickson (Friend) on: Dec 06, 2021
