DR. STACY JEAN MCPHEE
1990 - 2021
announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, sister, niece, granddaughter, cousin and friend, Dr. Stacy McPhee, on November 24, 2021.
Stacy was predeceased by her parents,
Michelle and James (Jim) McPhee; paternal grandparents, Albert and Mildred MacPhee; uncle David (aunt Deborah) McPhee and
maternal grandfather Morris Berthelette.
Left to cherish Stacy's memory is her
beloved husband Dr. Sourabh Maiti and her brother Dr. Sean McPhee. Stacy is missed
tremendously by the McPhee family; uncles, Gerard (Nicole), Ron (Rolande), John (Diana), aunt Debbie (Chuck) and cousins, Cory,
Nadine, Christophe, Eric, Nicholas, Rick, Ryan, Heather and their families. Also mourning is the Berthelette family; maternal grandmother Agnes, uncles, Jerome
(Carmen), Les (Shannon), Lionel (Tracey), and cousins, Veronica, Courtney and their
families. Stacy is also lovingly remembered by her in-laws, Dr. Pradip and Mrs. Sikha Maiti, her brother-in-law Dr. Soubhik Maiti (Dr. Rozeanna Skovrlj), treasured friends, and colleagues.
Stacy grew up in Charleswood and attended River West Park and Oak Park High Schools. As a child, Stacy embraced team sports,
participating in soccer, baseball and rugby. Stacy also enjoyed choreographing dance moves with her cousins to The Spice Girls, The Backstreet Boys and Cher. These dance routines were extensively rehearsed and
executed with perfection at the community dances that she attended.
Stacy was dedicated to academic
excellence. Being a high achiever led her to hold the distinction of serving in the
Manitoba Legislative Assembly as a Page, a title that she held with dignity for an
unprecedented three years. Her quiet
determination led her to a career in medicine, graduating from the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Medicine, Class of 2015.
Upon graduation, Stacy chose to specialize in family medicine. Her soft, yet assured
leadership style put her in the role of elected chief resident in her family medicine
program. Her dedication to full spectrum care and belief in making primary care
available for the underprivileged served as an example to the medical students and
family medicine residents placed under her tutelage at both ACCESS Fort Garry and Kildonan Medical Centre. At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Stacy worked on the front lines at testing centers. Her calm
reassuring demeanour comforted her patients during these uncertain times.
The cornerstone of Stacy's life was family. She brought family and friends together with her warmth and kindness ensuring her home was the gathering place for celebrations and milestones. She spearheaded planning special activities around her favourite holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas, giving us
cherished moments and memories.
Stacy had a zest for life and never shied away from a good adventure. She loved
exploring different cultures and cuisines,
travelling to many countries with her
husband, family and friends. Her love of live music and exploring new countries
culminated with seeing The Spice Girls
perform live at Wembley Stadium with Sourabh in 2019.
Stacy was a loving wife, sister, a valued
family member, friend, and a caring and
accomplished doctor. Everyone who was
fortunate to know her was deeply touched by her humble, quiet leadership, quick wit, thoughtfulness, and generous spirit. But above all, she was a beautiful person who will be deeply missed.
A celebration of Stacy's life will take place on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with interment and a reception to follow.

Had great pleasure of working with Stacey at Legislature as Deputy Sgt at Arms. What a dedicated dependable person. Stacey ranked up there with the best. Always on time, knowledgeable and professional. I had to call on her services in years after her term and she was there in no time all, prepared. Extremely driven and intelligent. The world has lost a true gem. RIP Stacy - Posted by: Blake Dunn (Worked with Stacey) on: Dec 04, 2021

My heartfelt condolences to the family of Stacy. I got to know her through work at several different clinics - Corydon Primary Care, Access Fort Garry, and finally at Kildonan Medical Centre. She was a kind hearted soul with a quick and dry wit about her. And always excited about the Spice Girls. She will be greatly missed.
