(TILBURY)

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Iris Peterson (Tilbury) on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
Iris was born to Francis and Jesse Tilbury July 31, 1938. Iris spent her childhood and early adult years in Melita, MB. Iris married Bud Andries and had a son Derrick Andries in 1961. In the late 1960s Iris moved to Brandon, MB to pursue a further education and career. In the early 1970s Iris met and married Norman Peterson. Together they bought and ran a land survey company in Brandon, MB. Together they purchased a acreage and ran their company up until the late 1980s. Iris and Norm moved to Calgary, AB to pursue thoroughbred racing and breeding. Iris stayed in Calgary, AB. until 2008 when she moved to Lockport, MB.
Iris will be lovingly remembered as a proud mother for her wit and exceptional kindness. Left to cherish her memories are her son Derrick (Valerie), her stepsons, Steve (Christine), Mike ( Melody), Jerry (Deana) and Eric and their families; Iris's siblings, Syd Tilbury, Doug Tilbury (Shiela), Shirley Mcintosh (Dick) and their families. Iris had many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and close family friends that she loved and cherished them all.
Iris's love for sports was undeniable, she never missed a Jets game on the "idiot box" which we fondly remember her calling it. We are going to miss Iris more than we know.
Iris had a Celebration of Life gathering December 1, 2021.
In the spring or summer of 2022 Iris will be resting in her home town of Melita, MB.
