GILBERT COURCELLES

It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Gilbert Courcelles on December 1, 2021, due to Covid complications.
He was born on November 20, 1958. He will be remembered by his parents, Emilien and Jeannette, his brothers, Gilles (Annette) and Renald (Lisa), three nephews and one niece.
When we visited Gilbert he always wanted to go to The Source to look at CB radios which was always on his Christmas List along with his Police uniform, then there was a stop at A & W for a root beer and then the mall. He was always so excited for his Christmas visits in St. Adolphe with his family. His Sunday phone calls will be missed which he always said he will pray for us. His favourite shows were Price is Right and NSIC. Over the years he has fought many battles with his health. We are sad as a family to see him go, but we know that he is in heaven where there is no more suffering. Rest in peace Gilbert, till we meet again.
Thank you to the staff at Manitoba Development Centre for his care over the years.
A small family service will be held in the St. Adolphe Parish Cemetery in May of 2022.

  • I had the great pleasure to be involved with, get to know and consider Gilbert a friend through my many years of work in Recreation Services at MDC until I retired in 2019. I was very fortunate to have developed a wonderful relationship with Gilbert. He enjoyed trips shopping especially to the Source but we also made a few stops over the years for tours at the Fire and Police Stations which he really enjoyed. Gilbert had a great sense of humor and I loved our conversations where a little bit back and forth jabbing was always on tap. For years he was the unofficial Security Guard at the Centre and made sure all was in order. Gilbert struggled with his health but it never deterred his enthusiasm for life and involvement with people he cared for. I am very saddened to hear of his passing as due to Covid I have not been able to go up to MDC for visits since I retired. My condolences to his family, the great staff at MDC who cared for him and his many friends who I consider myself to be one of. RIP my Gilbert. - Posted by: Ferdi Nelissen (FRIEND) on: Dec 06, 2021
