PAUL JOSEPH CHAMPAGNE
July 8, 1933 - November 22, 2021
VE4 0PC
He was predeceased by his parents, Cleophas and Marie Josephine (Ducharme); his brother Lou, his eldest son Eric, and granddaughter Stacey.
Dad did whatever was needed to support his family. He was an appliance repairman, a taxi cab driver and a morgue assistant before he landed a job with CNR. That resulted in a 37 year career as a Fireman and a Locomotive engineer. A job he truly enjoyed.
Dad was also extremely proud of his amateur radio status. He had been associated with the VE4 WSC for 29 years and had held the position of vice president, twice as president and had been on the board of directors, duty operators and net callers. Dad was associated with the Army, Navy and Air Force Unit 303 (Rockwood) for 48 years. He had served as membership chairman and sick and visiting chairperson. He was especially fond of the camaraderie and friendships that he made over the years.
As a family we were able to spend Dad's last day gathered together at his bedside. Thank you to Riverview Heath Centre staff CD3.
As per Dad's wishes there will be no service and cremation has taken place.
Please think of a happy memory of our dad and hold it in your heart.
Arrivederci Dad

Our condolences to Aunty Alice "Tommy" and the family. Last time I met Uncle Paul was at Co-op food store on Meadowood & Dakota. It was so good to see and chat with him then. Had I known he was in Riverview I would have stopped in to see him(as my mom Betty Ducharme was on 3E at the same time) - Posted by: Peter & Louise(Ducharme) Friesen (cousin) on: Dec 19, 2021
