We went yesterday for my daughters last visit at the dentist she is now 18 ..I asked to talked to Dr. Dobbs and to thank him for all the care he gave my 2 girls for 18 years ! I was so sad to hear of his passing ! Dr. Dobbs was a kind and caring person. He will be missed by all the generations to come ..we had awesome discussion when we went there since we both loved Elvis. My girls and I loved his stories. He will always be remembered! Our prayers and thoughts are with the family. .. - Posted by: Terese (My girls were a patient of his for years ) on: Aug 13, 2022

Tom was my dentist when I was a child—and I do remember his gentle touch and his kind personality (and, yes, the toy at the end of the appointment!). Fast forward “a few years” and I found myself on a WRHA committee with him, where I got to know him a wee bit. A man of reason, he was always a thoughtful speaker who contributed wise counsel at our meetings. Tom, you will be missed, and we will be sure to celebrate your memory at our next meeting ❤️ - Posted by: Catherine Dale (Colleague ) on: Dec 12, 2021

Dr. Dobbs was truly one of a kind! Many of us started working with him in the 70s and 80s, and a lot of us continued until our retirements. He truly loved paediatric dentistry. He did it with such ease, and so many patients were very fond of him. He loved nothing more than a good talk/debate about many different things. He was always open to listen to our thoughts and comments, even if he didn’t agree. Many of us brought our children, and subsequently our grandchildren to see him. Always with great faith in the quality of work that was accomplished. He truly never got rattled, always a calmness and and an ability to earn confidence. As many of us know, he struggled with some health concerns through the latter part of his life, but he was always ready to start again, and always happy to return to children’s dentistry. He loved Elvis, history, his people and animal friends, hiking, being out in the solitude of nature, and treats brought into the office by patients and staff alike. Many of us had been with him for such a long time, and thus it truly often felt like a family. He always knew we cared. The gift of 605… is the many cherished friendships that developed over time. For that, and for him, we are forever grateful. - Posted by: Gail Brigham (employee/dental hygienist ) on: Dec 10, 2021

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Dobbs passing. He was my dentist when I was a child. I was always so anxious to go to the dentist because my teeth always seemed to have cavities, but Dr. Dobbs was always so gentle and kind. The part I was always most anxious for was the freezing, and Dr. Dobbs would kindly reassure me that I was doing a great job and it would be quick, which it always was. After that, he would put the "rain coat" on! I wonder if any of his patients remember that. The best part was the end of the appointment, because he always had the best selection of toys and prizes to take home with us! I'm pretty sure I always picked a bouncy ball.... anyways. My sincerest condolences to Dr. Dobbs' family. His level of care was second to none. - Posted by: Taylor Tataryn (Patient) on: Dec 08, 2021

Not only was Dr. Dobbs my grown children’s dentist but also my grandchildren. I had the privilege of working with Dr. Dobbs for many years at children’s hospital and Dr. McManus surgery centre. Not only was he an amazing dentist but also a very kind caring man. The dental world has lost an amazing dentist and man. I will cherish the many fond memories I have of him. - Posted by: Arlene whyte (Coworker) on: Dec 07, 2021
