LILETT (LIL) RHODEN

Lilett "Lil" Rhoden was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world suddenly on November 30, 2021, at age 78.
She was born to Jeremiah and Adassa Brown in Clarendon, Jamaica and emigrated to England to pursue her education in the medical field. During a day trip to London, she met her husband of 54 years, John, and together they had three children: Ian, Nigel and Nadine. We know that she wants to be remembered for the care she provided during her career as a nurse, and the many children whom she delivered into this world as a midwife.
Lil was a devoted Christian and considered her church as her backbone. She loved her daytime TV series (especially Y&R), shopping to accessorize herself and home, maintaining medical research, and making sure she had a strong presence in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
The visitation is from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. in Winnipeg, Manitoba. COVID PROTOCOLS REQUIRE ALL IN
ATTENDANCE BE FULLY VACCINATED, ONLY THOSE WHO CAN SHOW PROOF OF VACCINATION AND GOVERNMENT
ISSUED ID WILL BE PERMITED TO
ATTEND.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., December 11, 2021, at the Truth and Life Worship Centre, 51 Richfield Ave., Winnipeg, with viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Glen Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Lil would have liked that her friends and family rejoice in today! "This is the day which the Lord has made; Let us
rejoice and be glad in it" (Ps. 118:24).

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Mrs. Rhoden was the kindest, most willing to give of herself and selfless people I have ever known. When I was away at school, she sent me cards so I would know I wasn't alone, that touched me more than words can say. Her family are the warmest and most giving people around. Her memory is cherished and she is enjoying the loving arms of her Lord right now. May he wrap His loving arms of comfort around her entire family during this terrible time of grief. - Posted by: Charlene (Friend of the family) on: Dec 10, 2021
