JOSEPH ANTONIO BAETE

Passed away at the Tiger Hills Health Centre, Treherne, MB, on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the age of 97 years, Joseph Antonio Baete, formerly of Holland, MB.
Joe leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Marguerite (nee Marginet); daughters, Velma (Ken) Scott of Brandon, MB, and Elaine Baete of Montreal, QC; son Darren Baete (Tammy Dolliver) of Calgary, AB; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He is also survived by two sisters, Rose Van de Kerckhove of Notre Dame de Lourdes, MB and Mary Godard of Aldergrove, BC, as well as numerous extended relatives and friends. Joe was predeceased by his daughter Karen Austerberry in 2019.
Prayers will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the Jamieson Funeral Chapel, Holland, MB. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, Holland, MB, with Father Joseph Tran as Celebrant. Interment to follow in the St. John Berchmans Parish Cemetery. Proof of vaccination is required to attend the service.
The family would like to thank Dr. Vorster and the Tiger Hills Health Centre Nursing and Medical staff for all the care Joe received during this difficult time and for the support shown to mom and family. Your kindness is very much appreciated.
Friends that so desire, memorial donations can be made in Joe's memory to the Tiger Hills Health Centre, Box 130, Treherne, MB R0G 2V0.

  • You are all in my thoughts & prayers. We will miss him. I loved stopping by to visit on my way home from Glenora to Portage. In the winter Uncle Joe & I would watch hockey games!
