DAMIEN MAURICE JOSEPH ANDRE
February 19, 1977 - December 3, 2021
He will be sadly missed by the love of his life Sahar; his parents, Maurice (Jake) and Brenda André; his sister Danielle Anderson (Errol); his nephews, Jacob and Samuel; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends. Damien was predeceased by his grandparents, Joseph and Claire André, Ed Thiessen and Genia Longson; aunts, Pauline André and Arlene Hyndman.
Damien was a truly devoted son who loved the times he spent with Mom and Dad at the family cabin in Lake of the Woods. So many good times were had there; fishing, swimming, water skiing, tubing and bonfires with family and friends. A familiar sight would be Damien presenting us with a platter of fresh pickerel from the days catch. He also enjoyed many family vacations, in particular his cruise to Alaska with Sahar and his Mom, which was his all time favourite. One of his most recent passions was rebuilding his Dad's '67 Chevelle SS 540 Big Block with Mom as the sponsor.
Damien's green thumb motivated him to grow countless little plants which he brought to Mom and Dad. Tomatoes, peppers, and plants of every species ended up in the garden, basement, and screened-in-deck. These were all labelled perfectly and supplied the neighborhood and many friends.
Damien will be sorely missed by his sister Danielle who will cherish the memories of a bond that only a brother and sister can have.
Damien had the gift of gab and really should have started a podcast. Whether it was a 3:00 a.m. call to chat about fishing, hunting or off-roading or just to give you his advice on any given subject; he was always up for a chat. He cherished his friends and held them very close to his heart. If Damien was your friend, you knew you had a friend for life; - he would drop anything anytime to be there for you. He was very generous whether you were family, friends, or a person on the street. Damien had the heart of an angel.
Damien and Sahar shared the happiest times of their lives together. They had many great years but not enough and she will love him forever from the bottom of her heart.
A private funeral and burial will be held for Damien.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.

Hi, I am so sorry for your loss. I just saw this now after seeing something online, I googled his name. I went to McLeod adult Ed. with Damien. He helped me in math class and I helped him in comp. Skills class. He helped give me rides to and from school, because I bussed. He was a really good friend to have. I am so sorry again to his family & everyone. - Posted by: Angelika Swistak (Friend) on: Aug 20, 2023

Damien and I were in the same chemistry class in adult ed. We sat at the same table with a few other classmates and helped each other with our assignments. While I only knew him in this setting, it was enough to learn that not only was he intelligent and capable with the task at hand, but he was kind and very willing to help out when necessary. I am very sorry to see that he has passed away. My condolences. - Posted by: Jesselyn (Fellow Student) on: Aug 21, 2022

We are so deeply sorry for your loss. It was so much fun being with Damien on our Vegas trip. It was a pleasure getting to know him and his lovely wife who so sweetly served us morning coffee in our room. I’ll never forget how thoughtful they were & how attentive they were to you, Brenda. Obviously he was blessed with loving parents just as u were blessed with a loving son. Our thoughts and prayers to you two as well as Sahara Danielle and your grandsons. Damien was a one of a kind guy, emphasis on the 'kind'. I enjoyed having out at my house in East Kildonan for winter and summer fires, where he spoke about politics, health, education, and his beautiful spouse Sahar! The first time I met him was at Festival du Voyageur, where he made a group of us roar with laughter at his many stories! I will miss his one of a kind deep voice and his friendship. I was deeply affected with the news of his sudden death, and I grieve with Sahar and with his close family and friends. - Posted by: Jessica Schmidt (friend) on: Dec 08, 2021
