ANNA SCHABLER
(GESSNER)
Anna spent her growing up years in Brazil, then returned to Germany to marry Linus Schabler. In Feburary 1951, Anna and Linus with their young family, immigrated to Kenora, Ontario. Here she started her working life as dishwasher, chambermaid, retiring from Acme Dry cleaners.
Anna hosted many gatherings at her home and was an organizing member of the Kenora German Club. Her claim to fame was her Black Forest cake.
Anna is fondly remembered by son Hans (Rosalie; grandsons, Richard (Holly), and David (Natalie); and great-grandchildren, Kiya and Sienna; and Rosalie's daughter Marie. Also surviving are two brothers, Cebald (Vera) in Edmonton, and Richard (Diane) in Vernon, BC. Plus nieces and nephews, relatives and friends in Brazil, Canada, and Germany.
Anna was predeceased by husband Linus, 2006, daughter-in-law Connie and granddaughter Barbara.
Memorial service will be held Monday, December 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Water of Life Church, 924 11th Avenue, Kenora. Masks required.
