JULIA KUZENKO
Juliana Dorothy Hyra was born September 26, 1928 in the R.M. of Rossburn, the second child of William and Jessie (Naherniak). She met her husband Harry Kuzenko while he was on furlough from the army and they married in 1946. They farmed for nearly 30 years south of Angusville then moved to Russell where she worked at the Russell Inn for many more years.
Julia was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her baby son Ernie, her brothers, Jerry, Peter, Leonard, Eugene and Alexander and her husband's parents, siblings and their spouses: William (Mary), Anna (Fred), Dora, Frederick (Ella), Peter (Nellie), Mary (Mike), Steve (Lena).
To cherish her memory, she leaves her children, Dennis (Michelle Larose), Dianne, Debbie (Patrick Tanner); her grandchildren, Natasha Kuzenko (Mark Dunnett), Nina Kuzenko (Brent Van Den Bussche), Jared Kimacovich, Kyle Kimacovich (Kelsey Krahn), Tyler Tanner (Megan Peters), Jenessa Tanner (Tim Noreiks); and her great-grandchildren, Max, Ben and Brooklyn. She also leaves her sister-in-law Merle Hyra, numerous nephews and nieces, several cousins and friends.
Mom was always on the go, working hard on the farm, in the fields, milking cows, while keeping a spotless house and cooking endless tasty treats and thousands of perogies and holubtsi. She grew a large garden, the bounty of which she shared with her children. She decorated elaborate wedding cakes. She was an accomplished seamstress and knitter, made cozy wool quilts. No one who ever visited left on an empty stomach, her first concern for guests being "Have you eaten?" She was very proud of her beautiful yard which brought her many deserved compliments.
The family is grateful to the staff of Souris Personal Care Home for the compassionate care they provided our beloved mom.
She will be greatly missed.
Mass of the Resurrection to be held Saturday, December 11, 12:00 noon, at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic, Father Bisson officiating.

My prayers are with you and family especially today as you lay your dear Mom Julia to rest. I am with you in spirit. She was well loved and was the animator and 'teacher' for all the family as her obituary shows. May she rest in peace, her reward well earned. Blessings, Chris - Posted by: Chris Anne Butterill (friend of Dennis and Michelle) on: Dec 11, 2021
