ROSE ZOMMER
She was born March 9, 1939 at the St. Boniface Hospital. She is predeceased by her parents, John (1954) and Stella 2010 (Shubert) Sitar and by her stepfather Tony Zajanczkowski (1978); as well as her husband Paul (2014); brother Fred (2014) and sister-in-law Sylvia (2021).
Rose spent her childhood in South Junction and moved with her mother to Winnipeg in 1954. She started working as a hairdresser at a young age. She married Paul in 1957 and were happily married for 56 years! She will be sadly missed by her three boys, Glenn, Arnie (Joanne and grandchildren, Curtis and Lindsay), Brian (Karen and grandchildren, Andrew and Meaghan); as well as extended family, friends and neighbours. She lived in the same house for over 50 years until the day before her passing.
Mom was an excellent Mother and Baba; her cooking skills and seamstress skills were pretty special too. Mom loved her puzzles and word search. She enjoyed community Bingo for many years and later going to the Casino.
Thanks to staff at CancerCare, Palliative Care and Riverview for their compassion and care.
A funeral service will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Glen Lawn Cemetery.
