ROBERT EDWARD BURNS (BOB)

BURNS, Robert Edward. It is with deep sadness that we the family of Robert (Bob) Edward Burns of Morden, MB announce that he went to be with his Lord and Saviour on October 24, 2021 at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Norma; son, Craig (Jill) Burns of AB; daughter, Christa (Greg) Gitzel of MB; grandchildren: Sydney, Riley, Noah and Ethan all whom Bob loved, cherished and treasured time spent together; a brother, Tom (Laurie) Burns of Brandon, MB; niece, Susan (Harbinder) Benning, children, Annika and Ronin of Winnipeg, MB. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Jean Burns and sister, Linda (Emile) Branconier. Bob was born in Pine Falls, MB, July 20, 1954. He met the love of his life, Norma Jean Sutherland in 1970 and they married in 1974. Bob was an amazing Husband and Father and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was involved in his church and while in Brandon enjoyed his time in Bus Ministry at Bethel Christian Assembly and later serving with his family at Circle Square Ranch, Austin, MB. A dream came true when he pursued a driving/trucking career and eventually became an owner/operator with his own company. He was a hard and dedicated worker. Bob enjoyed music and sports especially football with his favourite team being, of course, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, along with playing hockey, baseball, racquetball and golfing. Bob's most important life decision was made when he committed his life to his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, whom he loved to share with any and all he met. You will be forever in our hearts, and though our hearts are heavy now, we are rejoicing knowing you are free of all pain and disease.
