FLORENCE JEAN ROBINSON
(nee PAYNE)
December 15, 1922 – December 11, 2021

Jean Robinson passed away peacefully on December 11, 2021, just four days prior to her 99th birthday, with family by her side.
Predeceased in 1993 by her husband Wilf Robinson, Jean is survived by her loving daughter Marcia (Paul) and son Paul (Cindy), and beloved grandchildren, Carly, Daniel, and Graham. She also is survived by her wonderful sister-in-law Aileen Robinson. She will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews and their families. At this time, we also fondly remember her late sister Verna (Bowes), late brother Don Payne, as well as her late brothers-in-law, Cliff Bowes, Howie Robinson, and Glen Robinson, all of whom she loved very much. Jean made great friends wherever she lived, including her wonderful Pembina Highway and Dew Street communities.
Jean was born in Grandview, Manitoba, and after growing up in Manitoba and then living in Saskatchewan, Jean and Wilf raised their family in Vancouver, British Columbia. After living on the west coast for many years, Jean returned to Manitoba to be near her mother and other extended family. In 2012, she moved to Toronto, Ontario, and was able to enjoy time with her children and grandchildren. Jean was a remarkably kind and gracious person, generous of spirit. She was very curious about people and the world, driven by an innate intelligence, and loved her newspaper and a good documentary or show. She was an avid sports fan, always had a book on the go, and relished her daily crossword. She loved to laugh, and we still could have a good chuckle together even as she struggled with dementia in the last couple of years of her life. She wanted to experience joy, and was happy for any opportunity that provided this.
Our family would like to express our deep gratitude to the staff at Parkview Long Term Care Home in Stouffville, Ontario for their respectful and compassionate care of Jean in her last phase of life.
A private family service will held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Parkview Home at parkviewhome.ca.
