ROBERT (BOB) A. COPELAND
Left to cherish his memory are: his loving wife, Jeannette; son, Dr. Ken Copeland (Julie); daughter, Karma Copeland; grandchildren, Bryant, Garth, Katie, Kristie, and Cassie. He is also survived by his sister, June Masters (Tom), and countless family members.
Bob was born on September 24, 1934 to his parents, Jack and Janet Copeland. He was raised in the Weston area of Winnipeg. He joined the Winnipeg Fire Department on February 1, 1957. Shortly after, he met the love of his life, Jeannette and the two were immediately inseparable. They were married on August 26, 1961.
Bob and Jeannette purchased their lifelong home in the Crestview area in 1965, where they raised their two children and made many lifelong friends. In their leisure time they enjoyed camping in western Canada in their trusty camper. They also enjoyed travelling to the United States to visit their son and his family, as well as visiting many tropical locations such as Hawaii, Costa Rica, and Panama.
In 1984, they purchased a cabin at Hillside Beach where Bob enjoyed spending time, well into his retirement as District Chief of the Winnipeg Fire Department in 1994. He loved spending time making memories with his family and visiting with friends at his home away from home. Bob could often be found playing a heated game of crib with a drink and a pocket full of jujubes.
A memorial service is being planned for Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. The service will be officiated by Chaplain Mark Young and attended by members of the Winnipeg Fire Department Honour Guard. For those who wish to attend the service please R.S.V.P. to Chapel Lawn. Thank you to the dedicated staff of the various healthcare facilities in which he spent the last months of his life, with a special thanks to Riverview Health Centre (A1).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Riverview Health Centre or the Manitoba Firefighters Burn Fund.

Such a sad day to hear of Bob's passing. Jeanette, Karma and Ken my heart goes out to you all at this especially sad time in your lives. I have so many great memories of our families together at the cottage and great Christmas parties. The biggest is Bob and my Dad and all the hijinks they would get-up up to. They can now have good times together in hijinks heaven. Funny that Len passed away exactly 11years to the day. Sending prayers of support to all of you Xo Sharon and Peter - Posted by: Sharo Ryman (Life long friend) on: Dec 20, 2021
