JEANNE SARKONAK
(nee BIBEAU)
REST IN LOVE

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Jeanne on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the age of 64.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Raymond, daughter Corrinne (Scott), son Dan, and her grandchildren Castiel, Emma, Rayna and Georgia. Also left to mourn her loss are her siblings, Lynn Ponton (Bruce), Terry Noble, Michel Bibeau (Joan), Lucy McWha, David Giroux (Florence), Tracey Scott, and Patty Gergely (Zolton Jr); her brothers-in-law Ron (Bev), Tony, Leonard (Bonnie) and David (Sheila), her mother-in-law Alice Sarkonak, extended family, childhood friend Jackie Miller (Keith), and many other friends in Winnipeg and Dauphin. Jeanne was predeceased by her parents, father-in-law, brother, twin sister, nephew, and granddaughter Sophie.
Jeanne was born in Winnipeg on January 12, 1957 along with her twin sister Marie-Anne who sadly passed in 1961. In 1970 at the age of 13, the family moved to Dauphin, MB where she met the love of her life Raymond in 1971 and were married in 1975. Jeanne and Raymond started their life together in Winnipeg where she worked for Safeway until they moved back to Dauphin in 1982. They moved back to Winnipeg in 2011 and a year later the first of her five precious grandbabies were born and she couldn't possibly be happier. Her absolute greatest joy was showering them with as much love as she could squeeze out. Jeanne's smile would light up a room when she talked about her grandchildren.
Jeanne enjoyed shopping with her sisters, doing her crossword puzzles, playing Words with Friends with Corrinne every day, and especially the time she spent with her grandchildren. Pool days and sleepovers at Grandma's were the ABSOLUTE BEST! You could often hear Jeanne yelling, "Raymond put your hearing aids in". "Danny wash your hands" and "Corrinne text me when you get home!"
Due to Covid restrictions, a private family service is to take place.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation may be made in Jeanne's memory to a charity of their choice.
Our family would like to thank everyone for their condolences during this difficult time.

  • So very sorry to hear of Jeanne's passing. We were in the same home room the 1st year Jeanne moved to Dauphin and were friends for many years until we lost contact. Jeanne had an incredible laugh, loved Ray from the moment she saw him and it was great that Jeanne had such a special bond with her children and grandchildren. Take good care Ray - Posted by: Roberta Restall (Thompson) (Friend from Dauphin) on: Dec 31, 2021

  • It is with great sadness that we heard of Jeanne’s passing! Know that our heart felt sympathy goes to Raymond, Corrine(Scott) and kids and Danny. Jeanne was a wonderful, talented woman with everything she touched and did was to pristine! My house says it all I’ll never forget our years at Safeway, along with my restaurant years! We had many years of great memories and many laughs! Rest easy Jeanne and may your family find peace in all your fond memories!
