ROGER GEORGE GAIDA
July 28, 1949 - December 19, 2021
Peacefully, at the Gimli Community Health Centre, Roger quietly slipped away.
He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Josie; sisters, Grace and Sylvia (Terry); brother-in-law Brian (Mare); his nieces and nephews and their spouses; also many family members cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Elsie; father Stanley; uncle Johnny and brother-in-law Ron.
After finishing school Roger went to work for the CPR and always said he liked to go to work everyday. After 35 years he retired and moved with his wife to Gimli. After a few short years Roger had a life changing accident. He no longer was able to do many of the things he enjoyed, fishing, hunting and just being outside. Folks may remember him on his scooter (looked like a motorcycle). He would go all through Gimli to look at people and all the sites during the summer, in winter he would do his wood working which he loved in the shop. He loved to watch all and any wildlife.
As with Roger's wishes cremation has taken place and we will have a Celebration of Life at a later date (to be decided).
Thank you to the staff at Gimli Community Health Centre that helped Roger with his journey by caring and doing what he needed.
If you so wish, donations can be made to the Gimli Humane Society or CancerCare Manitoba.
Condolences may be left on his tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com.
