(née DUMONT)
She was predeceased by her husband Eugene; her parents, Alexandre and Elvire Dumont; her siblings, Armand, Alice, Roland, Irene, and Therese; stepdaughter Edith and her husband Archie; and son-in-law Clarence.
She is survived by her children, Gilbert (Carmelle), Lise (Bernie), Suzelle, Normand (Darlene), Denis (Susan) and Michel (Tannis). Another 17 grandchildren and 18 (soon to be 19) great-grandchildren round up her legacy.
Like so many Moms, ours had many claims to fame. She is the last surviving "Ma Tante", auntie for all of our cousins (on both sides). Dad was from a family of 13 and Mom from a family of six, so there are a lot of cousins - 91 by our records!!
Mom's love of family was second to none. A busy kitchen and kids running everywhere playing hide and seek behind the couch was all music for her. She had a sensitive wrist and fishing was one of her favourite things to do - "J'en ai un!!!" Mom's kitchen produced some of the best donuts, best Swiss steak, best sucre à la crème, and probably the best bread in the world. She enjoyed curling, her involvement with Les Filles D'Isabelle, and had a career working at the campground office at the park.
Her later years were lived at Chalet Malouin and the Repos Jolys, under the care of some very special, gifted people. We are very thankful for the care and compassion they demonstrated towards our Mom.
The pandemic sure didn't help this whole situation. However, for a few days before she passed, the entire family was able to take turns and have some good visits with her. Her squeeze of the hand told us she was still here but preparing us for the final blast off.
We want to honour our Mom with a proper send off. This will be done in spring when we are in a better position to celebrate her with a funeral Mass and an opportunity for a lunch.

Rita was the last of my father's (Adelard) aunts and uncles. As children my sister (Roselle), my brother (Greg) and myself were frequent visitors to St-Malo, My mother (margery) and Rita were good friends and entered several curling bonspiels together.
