JOYCE CHASE
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Chase, wife, mother and grandmother on December 23, 2021 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by her son, Dennis Chase and brother, Gerald Zenchak.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ralph (Buzz) of 64 years; her sons, Ken (Bonnie), Len, Glen (Susan) and her daughter Linda (Tim). She also leaves behind her two grandsons, Brett (Dayna) and Cam (Courtney); and her two sisters; Carol and Debby.
"Joycie Woycie", as her sister Debby nicknamed her, was born in the North End of Winnipeg, daughter of Julie and Henry Zenchak. Joyce spent her entire life in Winnipeg where she met Ralph while working at McCaine Electric. Together they raised five children. Joyce enjoyed many years as a volunteer treasurer at Norquay Community Centre and loved playing board games - her favourite being scrabble.
Her sister, Carol, introduced her to her first pair of flip flops. She would wear them every day (even in the winter with socks - she started a new fashion trend).
A Celebration of Life will be held with the family, at which time we will also celebrate and honour her son, Dennis as well.
The family would like to thank the Maples Personal Care Home and Glen Eden Funeral Home for the kindness and compassionate care they provided Joyce.
If people wish to honour her memory, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.

So sorry Linda and family to hear of the passing of your mother. I occasionally ran into her at the grocery store but it had been quite a few years since I last saw her and spoke. Prayers and thoughts are with you all. - Posted by: Greg Ferguson (Friend) on: Jan 11, 2022
