TEENIE (TRIJNJE) VANDERMAAR

Teenie Vandermaar (nee Venhuizen) passed away peacefully on December 28, 2021, at the age of 92.
Teenie is remembered with love by her children, John (Linda), Linda (Brady), Henry, and Peter (Janet); grandchildren, Melissa, Katherine, and Steven; great-grandson Dylan; sister Martje and brother Jan-Hendrik; and many relatives, friends, and neighbours. She was predeceased by her husband Steve, six siblings, and two grandsons, Dustin and Jesse.
Teenie was born in Breede GN, Holland on July 1, 1929. She married Steve (Stoffer) in 1952, and they immigrated to Canada that same year, originally to Neepawa, Manitoba and later settling in Winnipeg where they raised four children.
Teenie had a strong faith and was a longtime member of the Christian Reformed Church. For many years she volunteered for her church, Calvin Christian School, and Middlechurch Home. She had a passion for helping others and loved to visit with family and friends. Always strong and capable, she lived on her own until the end. She was a positive and caring person and will be missed by all who knew her.
A special thank you to Debra, Tina, Dorothy, and the Zylstras for all their help and support in Mom's later years; also thanks to the wonderful St. Boniface Health Care workers and Home Care workers.
There will be a private family graveside service and interment on January 4, 2022 at Green Acres Cemetery.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation or CancerCare Manitoba would be appreciated. St. Boniface Hospital and their people took great care of Teenie when she had the first stroke in 2019 and again last week when she was admitted and needed emergency surgery and then in her final care. Teenie's husband, Steve, fought cancer for nearly 5 years, so CancerCare Manitoba was also significant to Teenie. - Posted by: Peter Vandermaar (son) on: Jan 01, 2022
