PATRICIA DOREEN WAUER
(nee DOW)
January 3, 1933 - December 21, 2021
The family of Patricia Wauer is sad to announce her passing.
Mom was born to Ruth and Alexander Dow. Sadly, her dad passed away when she was three months of age. Despite growing up without him, she was fortunate to be surrounded by many aunts and uncles who adored her.
As a teenager, she worked in Eaton's fabric department on weekends. She continued to work there for many years while raising her family. Her sewing talents were extraordinary and she could sew anything. She had a great eye for trends and as trends changed, no room was safe from her magic makeovers.
As her children got older, she felt it was time for a change and took classes in typing and bookkeeping and worked many years at Anderson Brokerage. She was a Sorority member and thoroughly enjoyed being part of that Sisterhood. She also participated in working at local, provincial and federal elections and worked her way to being a Returning Officer.
Mom loved to travel. We camped across Canada and the U.S. as a family, but her and Dad ended up their camping trips at Lake of the Woods with the CBC "Gang". Mom and Dad enjoyed being "Snowbirds" and spent their winters in Palm Springs. After Dad passed, she continued to travel the world with friends and family.
Mom was a powerhouse, a fabulous cook, and loved life. Mom and Dad are together again, sitting with a glass of wine, watching the waves roll in. In recent years Mom suffered from Dementia. We are so grateful for the exceptional care given over the years to Mom from Golden West Centennial Lodge.
Mom was predeceased by Ken, her husband of 45 years, son Jeff, and son-in-law Vernon Meese. Left to mourn her passing is daughter Lesley, son Ron (Kim), and six grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place, and a private interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or Golden West Centennial Lodge.
